There he sets out with his young daughter Lucia in a vintage Fiat X1/9, bound for the Tiber. Through hill towns, churches and landscapes layered with centuries of art and history, father and daughter travel a road that leads Marco back toward everything he has spent years refusing to face. TIBER is the debut narrative feature of Australian filmmaker Dominic Allen. Co-written with award-winning novelist Miles Allinson, it is an intimate widescreen drama attentive to the small textures of love, ritual and family. The film has its world premiere in the Feature Fiction Competition at the 2026 Adelaide Film Festival, and is nominated for Best Film and Best Dramatic Feature at the 20th Byron Bay International Film Festival. Allen's work spans documentary, immersive and narrative forms. His short film Two Men won him the MIFF Australian Emerging Filmmaker Award; he produced Grey Matter, which won Best Actor at the Tribeca Film Festival; and his VR work Carriberrie was selected for Cannes NEXT at the 71st Marché du Film. Marco is played by Australian-Italian actor Marcus J. Cotterell, a graduate of Rome's Accademia Nazionale d'Arte Drammatica Silvio d'Amico, whose credits include Giuseppe Tornatore's The Best Offer, Abel Ferrara's Go Go Tales and numerous Italian television productions. His restrained central performance is matched by his own daughter, Uma Cotterell, as Lucia. Shot in Rome, Cortona and Florence by cinematographer Joel Betts, with an original score by Rose Riebl, TIBER is a film about inheritance, devotion and the long reach of the past. http://www.dominicallen.biz/about daily 0.75 2026-10-05 https://images.squarespace-cdn.com/content/v1/52f46236e4b069d0ed733a36/1446594531598-GFPDGUUD8FJ1IYCZ5UYH/image-asset.png About http://www.dominicallen.biz/dominicallencontact daily 0.75 2016-04-17
